Classes begin July 11, 2023 and runs for 25 weeks. This semester students will be focusing on backstage skills such as costuming, set and prop design, lighting and sound.
The Teen Program will focus on extending the education that the students receive in ACTjr while offering new opportunities as they grow in the performing arts. The ACT Teen Program is a membership that keeps your students involved and will prepare them for magnet programs, magnet schools, and community theatre opportunities!
Teen Program participants will be the first students we go to when we need younger actors for community theatre shows.
Teen Program students will have the ability to audition for all Junior shows and do not have to pay additional tuition costs
Students will have the option of purchasing a tshirt, shout out, dvd, etc. if they would like them
Those auditioning for junior shows are not guaranteed to receive a part for that show. Just like community theatre, the teen program student will have to prepare for and audition for the available part and be cast by the production team.
Teen Program students will meet once a week and will have educational opportunities (music theory class, improv workshops, showcase work days, etc.)
The Students involved will work throughout the semester to develop a “cabaret” or showcase for the end of the semester that is built from THEIR ideas!
Teen Program participants will also have the ability to participate in the ACT one act festival!
